What is the true sign of Financial Freedom?
When I talk about financial freedom, it's not about how much money you earn or spend, but rather it's about being able to do what makes your soul happy without having to worry about the cost or consequences. It's about being able to spend time with people you love, doing things that make your heart sing and feeling complete inside. It's also not just being happy with yourself; it is having peace in knowing that your family would be taken care of no matter what happened because you had prepared well for them financially.
Financial freedom is not about how much money you make.
So what is financial freedom?
It's not about how much money you make.
It's also not about how much money you spend, or save, or give away--though those things may help get you there. Financial freedom is about having control over your life and the choices that affect it so that no matter what happens in the world around us, we can still be happy with where we are in life and achieve our goals without feeling like our dreams have been squashed by outside forces beyond our control (like an economic downturn).
Financial freedom is not about how much money you spend.
Financial freedom is not about how much money you spend. It's about how much money you earn, save and give away.
Financial freedom is not about how much money you save.
Financial freedom is not about how much money you save. It's about how much time you have to do what you love, with the people you love, doing what makes your soul happy, fulfilled and whole. It's about having enough income so that all of your expenses are covered and then some extra money left over at the end of each month so that if something unexpected happens (like an illness or car repair), it doesn't ruin your life.
Financial freedom doesn't mean being able to buy everything on Amazon Prime with no thought whatsoever as to whether it's worth purchasing or not--it means having control over what goes into our homes and onto our bodies; having time for hobbies; being able to travel when we want instead of when someone else tells us we can go away; being able to spend quality time with family members without worrying about paying bills back home; knowing that even if something goes wrong tomorrow (or next week), we'll still be okay because our basic needs have been met today!
Financial freedom is not about how much money you give away.
Financial freedom is not about how much money you give away. It's about having the time and energy to do what you love, without worrying about money.
The problem with focusing on financial freedom as a measure of success is that it can cause us to give away our time and energy for free, or worse: for the wrong reasons. If all our efforts are focused on making money, we may find ourselves working longer hours than necessary at jobs we don't enjoy just so we can afford certain luxuries in life like vacations or nicer cars--all things which won't bring true happiness anyway (and can even lead to burnout).
Instead of thinking about how much money we're earning per hour or whether or not our savings account balance has reached an arbitrary amount set by society as "comfortable," try thinking about how much fulfillment each task gives us as well as whether or not it aligns with our values--both personally and professionally!
Financial freedom is about how much time you have to do what you love, with the people you love, doing what makes your soul happy, fulfilled and whole.
Financial freedom is about how much time you have to do what you love, with the people you love, doing what makes your soul happy, fulfilled and whole.
Financial freedom is not a number in your bank account or a dollar amount on paper. It's not about having enough money to buy a house or car or go on vacation once in awhile (although those things are nice!). It's not even about being able to retire at some point in life so that you can sit around all day drinking margaritas while watching Netflix--although again: I'm sure those things would be pretty great!
You see financial freedom isn't just about having enough money; it's also about knowing how much money is enough for YOU right now and how much more than that would make YOUR life even better than it already is!
True financial freedom is a state of mind where we are no longer concerned with the things that can be taken away from us.
True financial freedom is a state of mind where we are no longer concerned with the things that can be taken away from us. It's not about how much money you make, spend, save or give away. It's about being secure in yourself and your abilities to meet any challenge that may come your way.
If you still feel like a slave to money then consider this: if someone told me today that all my debts were paid off by someone else and I could start fresh tomorrow with nothing but my current assets (savings) would I still be able to provide for myself? If so then perhaps it's time for some self-reflection on what true financial freedom means for YOU!
Conclusion
Financial freedom is not about how much money you make. It's not about how much money you spend or save. It's not even about how much money you give away! True financial freedom is a state of mind where we are no longer concerned with the things that can be taken away from us: our health, our loved ones' safety, our security in this world where everything seems so uncertain. The only way to achieve true financial freedom is by focusing on what truly matters most: making sure that every moment spent alive on this planet counts towards something meaningful and worthwhile before it ends forever
David Bach, a number-one New York Times bestselling author of The Automatic Millionaire & The Latte Factor said that "Financial Freedom is about a lot more than money, it’s about living a richer life". But where do we find this richer life that he is talking about? And how do we find this life?
Jeff Bezos Wealth
On this post, we will learn more about understanding the source of richer life that will bring us to a genuine Financial Freedom that we are trying to point out. But let's define a richer life? Is it having more possessions, more houses, more cars, more friends, more philanthropic work? Although it adds up to your credentials to having a fulfilled life. Does that give you a richer life? You could say that at least. On that note, let's listen to the richest person in the world, what does he say about having a rich life?
Jeff Bezos "We went to Norway for three days and we stayed in an ice hotel. We went dog sledding. We went to a wolf preserve and actually got to interact with timber wolves. It really was an incredible vacation, a pretty incredible holiday,” says Bezos. “We got it all done in three and a half days. It was amazing.” Do you think he is having a rich life? That is an absolute yes! I would want to do that and experience dog sledding in an ice hotel and do it in 3 and a half days only. That would be a lot of fun.
Take a look at this, Bill Gates, another billionaire said this when he was asked by a user. “Do you think being a billionaire has made you a happier person than if you were just a middle-class person?” The Microsoft co-founder responded: “Yes. I don’t have to think about health costs or college costs. Being free from worry about financial things is a real blessing.”
Now, let's go back to the richer life that we are trying to explain. As we were pinning down financial freedom is a lot more about having a richer life, I couldn't think of anybody in this world that had a lot to say about richer life but the person in a bible called Solomon. In his time, he was considered to be the wealthiest in the world have ever lived. Let's read below what he said.
King Solomon's Wealth
17 The king also had a large throne made. Part of it was covered with ivory and the rest of it was covered with pure gold. 18 Six steps led up to the throne, and there was a footstool attached to it, covered with gold. There were arms on each side of the throne, and the figure of a lion stood at each side. 19 Twelve figures of lions were on the steps, one at either end of each step. No throne like this had ever existed in any other kingdom.
20 All of King Solomon's drinking cups were made of gold, and all the utensils in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. Silver was not considered valuable in Solomon's day. 21 He had a fleet of ocean-going ships sailing with King Hiram's fleet. Every three years his fleet would return, bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.
22 King Solomon was richer and wiser than any other king in the world.
But what is so surprising after all the wealth of King Solomon, he wrote this books Ecclesiastes and he said in chapter 2 & 3 of his book, that life is meaningless, chasing after the wind.
Ecc 2:1-3 I decided to enjoy myself and find out what happiness is. But I found that this is useless, too. 2 I discovered that laughter is foolish, that pleasure does you no good. 3 Driven on by my desire for wisdom, I decided to cheer myself up with wine and have a good time. I thought that this might be the best way people can spend their short lives on earth.
So at the end of every wealth we have in this world, is it a true sign of Financial freedom, we have not yet resolve this question. Since we have mentioned above that financial freedom is a lot more about money but rich life. And richer life is not all about the material things, accomplishments and possessions in the world where would we get this life? Let us take a look at this passage, we are going to uncover the life that we are talking about.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
I believe this verse answers our question of what true life means. The richer life that we truly aims for. Whoever received and believes in Jesus and have a relationship with Him, will have eternal life.
In conclusion, to have a true sign of Financial Freedom is if you have Jesus in your life.
At this time, if you have not really accepted Jesus as the true giver of life, I invite you to have this relationship in Jesus Christ. Simply pray this prayer, Lord Jesus, I know that I have been living a life that is centered on you. Today, I learned about the true sign of Financial Freedom. And it is not the tons of wealth, accomplishments, possessions but the relationship with you. I accept you as my Lord and my Saviour and I want you to rule over my life, my possessions, and my eternal being. In Jesus Name. Amen.
