"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."*
(Joshua 1:9 NIV)
Change is inevitable, but it’s often accompanied by uncertainty and fear. Whether you’re stepping into a new job, moving to a new city, or navigating a new phase of life, God’s promise in Joshua 1:9 reminds us that we don’t have to face it alone. He is with us, guiding us every step of the way. As you enter this new season, here are six truths to anchor your heart and help you move forward in faith.
1. New Season, New Challenges (Joshua 1:2)
Every new beginning comes with its own set of challenges. These obstacles are not meant to break you but to build your faith and reliance on God. Instead of fearing the unknown, trust that God is using these trials to prepare you for what’s ahead. Remember, His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
2. New Season, New Provision (Joshua 5:12)
When the manna stopped in the Promised Land, God provided a new source of sustenance. Similarly, in this new season, God’s provision may look different from what you’re used to. Trust that He knows your needs and will supply them in His perfect timing. His faithfulness never changes, even when your circumstances do.
3. New Season, New Mindset (Numbers 14:24)
Old mindsets can hinder your progress. Fear, doubt, and negativity have no place in this new season. Like Caleb, who followed God wholeheartedly, choose to embrace this season with faith and expectancy. Let go of what’s holding you back and step into the fullness of what God has for you.
4. New Season, New Priorities (Joshua 6:19
In this new season, God may call you to reorder your priorities. Whether it’s your time, resources, or relationships, put Him first. When you honor God with your choices, He will bless your obedience and guide your steps.
5. New Season, Greater Growth (Joshua 3:5)
God often uses new seasons to refine us. This may involve letting go of habits, attitudes, or even relationships that no longer align with His plan. Allow Him to sanctify your heart and prepare you for the blessings He has in store. Remember, growth often requires discomfort, but it’s always worth it.
New Season, New Direction (Joshua 8:2)
What worked in the past may not work in this new season. God is calling you to seek Him for fresh strategies and wisdom. Like Joshua, who followed God’s unconventional battle plan, trust that His ways are higher than yours (Isaiah 55:9). Be open to His leading, even if it takes you out of your comfort zone.
Heavenly Father, thank You for leading me into this new season. I choose to trust You, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. Help me to be strong and courageous, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Give me wisdom to navigate this season, faith to embrace Your promises, and a heart that seeks You above all else. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A new season is not just a change in circumstances; it’s an opportunity to grow closer to God and experience His faithfulness in new ways. As you step forward, remember that He is your constant source of strength, provision, and guidance. Trust Him, and watch as He unfolds His perfect plan for your life.
